Regarding the case in which a body was found in a suitcase at Sincheon in Daegu, the son-in-law who was urgently arrested was said to have told police, "I hit her because my mother-in-law was usually loud and didn't put things away."
Daegu Bukbu Police Station said on Apr. 1 that the presumed cause of death of the woman was "multiple injuries caused by external force." A preliminary autopsy found multiple fractures in several areas, including the ribs and pelvis.
Based on the preliminary autopsy results and statements, police decided to seek arrest warrants for the deceased woman's daughter, A, in her 20s, and son-in-law, B, in his 20s. They plan to apply charges of parricide and abandoning a body.
They are accused of beating the victim to death on the 18th at their residence in Jung-gu, Daegu. Afterward, they put the body in a suitcase and abandoned it near the Sincheon stream. The suitcase containing the body was found on the 31st after a report came in that "a suitcase is floating."
