A man accused of killing his wife and attempting to dispose of her body has been arrested by police.
According to police on the 31st, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul urgently arrested A, a man in his 60s, on suspicion of murder and attempted abandonment of a body.
A is accused of killing his wife B, in her 50s, at an apartment in Seocho District at about 11:20 a.m. on the previous day and attempting to dispose of the body.
Police, who received a report from bereaved family members that they could not reach B, arrested A at around 5 p.m. the same day in Eumseong County, North Chungcheong.
A was reportedly in the middle of divorce proceedings with B. A is said to have put the body in a suitcase, loaded it into a car, and moved it to a drainage ditch on a hillside in Eumseong County.
A has no record of domestic violence reports, and no indications of mutilation of the body have been found.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
