Kim Seon-tae, who became known as the operator of the official YouTube channel for Chungju and then resigned, surpassed 3.2 million views with a Genesis BBQ chicken franchise ad video released on his personal channel.
As of the 30th, a 5-minute, 17-second BBQ collaboration video posted on the YouTube channel "Kim Seon-tae" surpassed 3.2 million views three days after release. Uploaded on the 28th, the video drew about 19,000 comments, reflecting strong interest from users.
In the video, Kim visited BBQ's headquarters in Munjeong-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, and met face-to-face with Chairman Yoon Hong-geun.
Explaining the development process of the brand's signature menu, "Golden Olive Chicken," Yoon said, "To check freshness, we even tried eating raw chicken ourselves."
Addressing recent online allegations that olive oil is not used, Yoon said, "Olive oil is about 15 times more expensive than regular cooking oil," and added, "It's not 100%, but we use about 51% olive oil."
The video also shows Yoon readily agreeing when Kim proposed donating 1,000 chickens for students in the Chungju area. It also features Kim directly taking part in cooking at a store in Seoul and serving chicken to customers.
Since it launched on the 2nd of this month, Kim's personal YouTube channel has grown rapidly. It surpassed 1.59 million subscribers 28 days after launch.
Earlier, a video Kim released in collaboration with Woori Bank on the 20th also recorded 4.9 million views.
