In Suwon, four men in their 20s were arrested by police on suspicion of breaking into an officetel where a woman lives alone and committing a robbery.
Suwon Paldal Police Station said on the 30th it plans to request arrest warrants for A, in his 20s, and three other men on charges of special robbery for breaking into an officetel in Suwon where a woman lives alone and carrying out a robbery.
The four, including A, are accused of ringing the bell and entering an officetel in Paldal District, Suwon, at about 3 a.m. that day and forcibly taking the mobile phone of B, a middle-aged woman living there alone.
They were also reported to have searched the officetel to steal other valuables.
Police responded to a witness report and arrested A and others at the scene as they were caught in the act at about 3:30 a.m.
A police official said, "It appears the suspects committed the crime without fully subduing the victim," and added, "We were able to apprehend them at the scene after a report from someone who heard the sound of a scuffle."
