On Sunday the 29th, rallies supporting and condemning the United States and Israel, which are at war with Iran, were held across downtown Seoul.
People in solidarity with Palestinians held a rally titled "50th anniversary of Land Day Mar. 29 national day of action" in front of Yeollin Songhyeon Green Plaza in Jongno District that afternoon and marched toward the areas near the U.S. Embassy in Korea and the Israeli Embassy. Land Day on Mar. 30 marks the day in 1976 when six Palestinians protesting land seizures were killed by Israeli forces.
About 200 participants, including Koreans, Palestinians in Korea, and Americans in Korea, condemned U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for attacking Iran. They also argued that Israel's attacks on Palestinians must stop as well. They staged a performance laying out photos and schoolbags of Iranian children killed in the two countries' airstrikes.
Palestine Peace Solidarity also held a "World Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination commemorative bicycle march." Participants attached the Palestinian flag and flags reading "Israel, stop the Gaza massacre" to their bicycles and moved from in front of Seorin Building in Jongno District to in front of the National Assembly in Yeongdeungpo District.
The Iranians in Korea Network held a rally that afternoon near Uijeongbu condemning the Iranian regime and supporting the United States. About 20 people, including Iranians residing in Korea, attended, waving the Iranian, U.S., and Israeli flags and chanting slogans such as "We are the revolution" and "No peace without justice."
During the rally, as the march by People in solidarity with Palestinians passed nearby, chants from both sides grew louder, but police controlled the march route and no clashes occurred.
