Son Ju-hwan, the head of Daejeon Safety Industry, which left 74 dead and injured in a fire disaster, has appointed KIM&CHANG, considered the country's largest law firm, as legal counsel.
On the 27th, Safety Industry said it appointed an attorney from KIM&CHANG right after the fire disaster and is responding to investigations by authorities, from the criminal probe to handling bereaved families.
Chief Executive Son Ju-hwan and some executives have been booked and are under investigation on suspicion of violating the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act. Police also questioned 53 people connected to the accident as references.
According to police, the pre-booking inquiry of Safety Industry conducted after the fire was also carried out in the presence of a defense attorney.
