A U.S. Forces Korea service member who assaulted a Korean man at a club in Seoul's Hongdae district has been caught.
The Mapo Police Station in Seoul said on the 22nd that it booked a U.S. Forces Korea service member in his 20s, identified as A, on suspicion of causing injury.
A was arrested at the scene around 3 a.m. the previous day at a club in Hongdae on suspicion of assaulting the face and other areas of a Korean man.
At the time, the victim and A's group brushed shoulders and got into a dispute, and the victim's nasal bone was reportedly fractured after A assaulted the victim multiple times.
Police handed A over to the U.S. military police under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) and plan to determine how to proceed with the case after establishing the exact circumstances.
