One more body was found at the scene of the fire at an auto parts factory in Daejeon.
According to Daejeon City and others on the 21st, at about 12:10 p.m. that day, one body was found in the men's restroom of the factory's east building and was taken to a nearby hospital.
This raised the death toll to 11. Three people remain missing.
The injured total 59, including two firefighters hurt during suppression efforts.
Minister Jung Sung-ho of the Ministry of Justice earlier said regarding the accident, "We extend deep condolences to the bereaved families and the families of the missing who are suffering great shock and sorrow, and to the victims who sustained moderate and serious injuries," and instructed, "Work with relevant agencies to review possible protection measures for the bereaved and the victims and provide swift support."
The Ministry of Justice plans to provide legal support, medical expenses, and funeral expenses to the casualties and bereaved families through the Korea Legal Aid Corporation (KLAC), Legal Home Doctor, and Crime Victim Support Center.
It also plans to support victims' psychological treatment through the Smile Center.
The Ministry of Justice added that it immediately formed a dedicated investigation team when the Daejeon fire occurred, with the head of the Criminal Division 4 of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office serving as Head of Team.
The investigation team will work with related agencies, including the police and the Labor Office, to determine the cause of the accident and who is responsible.
