Group BTS will unveil the first comeback stage for its fifth album "Arirang" at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on the 21st, with global fans gathered.
BTS will hold a free comeback show, "BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang" (BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG), at 8 p.m. that day and perform new songs and hits over the course of an hour.
Given leader RM said during a comeback commemorative live broadcast the day before that "it would be grand if everyone sang along to Arirang at the show," expectations are that they will showcase not only the title track "Swim" (SWIM) but also the first track "Body to Body," which includes Arirang.
However, leader RM suffered an ankle injury during rehearsal on the 19th and will go on stage but will not take part in some choreography.
A large LED structure in the shape of "∏" has been installed on the stage set up in front of the Government Complex Seoul at Gwanghwamun Samgeori.
From the protruding stage to Sejong-daero Intersection, zones A and B will be set up, and along Sejong-daero from Sejong-daero Intersection to City Hall Plaza, zone C will stretch out in a long "|" shape.
The official audience size for the show is about 22,000, but far more people are expected to pack the area near Gwanghwamun Square, where the concert will be held.
Across Seoul, offline events celebrating BTS's comeback, "BTS The City Arirang - Seoul" (BTS THE CITY ARIRANG - SEOUL), continue from the day before.
BTS released its first new album in 3 years and 9 months, the fifth full-length "Arirang," the day before. The title track "Swim" topped the Melon Top 100 chart, and about 4 million physical albums were sold on the release day.
Heavy crowds are expected to cause congestion around Gwanghwamun Square, where the concert will be held.
Around 2–3 p.m. that day, Gwanghwamun, City Hall, and Gyeongbokgung stations will close and trains will pass through without stopping. From 10 p.m., subways will be available at the three stations after the concert ends.
