A story is spreading on social media (SNS) about a customer at a hotel in Seoul sweeping up complimentary drinks provided for guests into a large bag.
On the 17th, a hotel in Seoul said through an SNS thread that it "went through an absurd experience," releasing CCTV footage of a male customer taking drinks from the hotel lounge.
The incident took place at the hotel's second-floor lounge, where water and drinks were provided free for guests.
At about 7:37 p.m. on the 14th, the man in the video filled a large shopping bag with water and drinks stored in the refrigerator and calmly left.
The hotel said, "We were so taken aback that we couldn't just let it go, so we are releasing the footage," and criticized, "Behavior outside common sense harms others and is clearly theft."
Internet users who saw the video noted, "You can report it to the police as theft," "That's not frugality—at that level it's a nuisance and a beggar mentality," and "Because of people like that, complimentary services offered as a courtesy disappear."
