Police are tracking a suspect after an active-duty pilot was found slain in an apartment in Busan.
According to Yonhap News and others on the 17th, around 7:15 a.m. that day, a pilot in his 50s, identified as Captain A, was found dead from stab wounds in an apartment in Busanjin District.
Police have identified Captain B, who worked with A, as a prime suspect in the case and are tracking the person's whereabouts.
A is presumed to have been attacked at home around 5:30 a.m. that morning.
B is believed to have fled toward Changwon, South Gyeongsang, right after the crime. B also allegedly attempted another crime the day before, on the 16th, targeting another captain, C, in the Ilsan area of Gyeonggi, but failed.
Police believe B committed the crime out of resentment toward pilots previously worked with. They are investigating the exact motive and circumstances.
Some pilots have reportedly asked police for personal protection.
