Police and fire authorities will conduct a joint forensic inspection on the 15th in connection with the fire at a capsule hotel in Sogong-dong, Jung District, Seoul, that injured 10 foreigners.
According to police and others, the Jungbu Fire Station in Seoul and the Namdaemun Police Station will carry out a joint forensic inspection of the fire scene on this morning.
The fire broke out at about 6:10 p.m. on the previous day at a building in Sogong-dong, Jung District, Seoul. The building, with one basement level and seven stories above ground, reportedly operated its third, sixth, and seventh floors as a guesthouse.
Fire authorities issued Response Level 1, mobilizing all nearby firefighting resources immediately after receiving the report. The fire was completely extinguished at about 9:35 p.m.
Ten foreigners were injured in the fire. Of them, three were seriously injured, and a Japanese woman in her 50s reportedly has not yet regained consciousness. Seven people with minor injuries received treatment and then moved to temporary accommodations arranged by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
