A man in his 40s who killed a woman in Namyangju, Gyeonggi, and fled was caught by police.
On the 14th, the Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency said it had urgently arrested a person identified as A on suspicion of killing a woman and was questioning the person.
At about 9 a.m. on the same day, A is suspected of approaching a woman in her 20s, identified as B, on a roadside in Onam-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi, killing her with a weapon, and fleeing.
Police and paramedics dispatched after a report found B in cardiac arrest at the scene and rushed her to a hospital, but B ultimately died.
A reportedly approached B using a vehicle, swung a weapon, and fled. The two were reportedly in a dating relationship. Suspect A is wearing an electronic ankle monitor, and B was under protection by the Ministry of Justice.
A fled to Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi, using a vehicle immediately after the crime and was arrested by police. Police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after investigating the exact circumstances of the case.
