Harold Rogers, Coupang's Korea head, was spotted on the night of the 12th inspecting Coupang's nighttime logistics site and personally making pre-dawn deliveries.
That day, an online community carried a post titled "Rogers is delivering now" along with two photos.
In the photos, which appear to have been taken by an on-site employee, Rogers, wearing a blue Coupang jumper, is seen loading a Coupang Fresh bag and boxes into a delivery vehicle.
Coupang said, "Rogers visited the Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, camp the previous night to encourage on-site employees for their hard work and to inspect the site."
He was said to have loaded products until early that morning and delivered items around Seongnam with the employees.
On Dec. 31 last year, Yeom Tae-young of the Democratic Party of Korea told Rogers, who attended a National Assembly hearing, "To understand the hardships of nighttime parcel work, it is necessary to work together directly at a logistics center," and Rogers replied, "I will deliver together," adding, "I have had such experiences a few times. I hope the lawmaker will join as well."
However, the schedule was postponed as Rogers was questioned by police over a personal data leak case.
On the 19th, he is scheduled to experience nighttime parcel work with Democratic Party lawmakers. Specific time, location and headcount are under discussion.
