As the international landscape is roiled by war among the United States, Israel, and Iran, a meme is spreading on social media (SNS) proposing that Donald Trump's son Barron Trump and Kim Jong-un's daughter Kim Ju-ae get married for world peace. The memes stem from a joke that making the United States and North Korea in-laws could prevent war.
According to online communities on the 11th, images including an AI-generated photo of Barron and Kim Ju-ae on a date and another of the two holding a baby are rapidly spreading on SNS.
Barron is the youngest son of President Trump and first lady Melania Trump. Born in 2006, he is currently attending New York University in the United States.
Kim Ju-ae is the eldest daughter of Chairperson Kim Jong-un and first lady Ri Sol-ju. In recent years, she has appeared with Kim at numerous events and has been mentioned as a potential successor. She has also appeared at North Korea's missile test launches and military parades.
In recently surfaced images, Barron and Kim Ju-ae are shown holding a child who resembles them. Behind the three stand the U.S. Stars and Stripes and North Korea's national flag.
This appears to stem from the hope and imagination that, amid global instability, if Barron and Kim Ju-ae were to marry and make the United States and North Korea in-laws, international conflicts would disappear. In fact, some meme posters wrote in the image captions, "For world peace, Barron and Kim Ju-ae must get married."
Earlier, when President Trump mentioned a desire to annex Greenland, satirical posts also spread on SNS suggesting that Barron marry Denmark's Princess Isabella so Greenland could be received as a dowry.
