Park Jin-Young, who leads JYP Entertainment, will resign from his position as inside director.
JYP Entertainment said on the 10th that "Park Jin-Young will not undergo the procedures for reappointment as an inside director at the shareholders meeting to be held on Mar. 26."
According to the company, Park Jin-Young will remain the founder and chief creative officer (CCO) of JYP Entertainment. Going forward, Park plans to focus on creative activities as an artist, training younger artists, and external affairs related to the K-pop industry.
Park Jin-Young debuted in the music industry in 1994 with "Don't leave me." Since then, while releasing numerous hit songs, Park has also worked as a composer and producer. Park founded JYP Entertainment in 1997 and has served as a registered inside director since 2011. In Sep. last year, Park was appointed co-chair of The Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange.
