A shoe company's story of sending a supportive text and a gift of shoes to a job seeker who failed an interview came to light belatedly.
It began when a job seeker on the 4th posted on X, calling it "the most impressive company during my interviews," and shared a review of the hiring process at "Chakangoodoo."
The person wrote, "I burst into tears after receiving a text from Chakangoodoo," adding, "Maybe thanks to that, I succeeded in 'landing a job' at a company where I can build experience."
The text message from Chakangoodoo posted with it said, "Although, regrettably, we were not able to connect in this hiring process, the sincere conversation we shared in the interview was a warm resonance for us as well," and added, "Though our journey parts ways here, we genuinely support every path you will step onto ahead."
It continued, "With the hope that at least your steps on that path will feel a bit lighter and more comfortable, we would like to gift you a pair of shoes we made with care," asking the recipient to reply with their shoe size.
The Chakangoodoo hiring review drew attention, surpassing 3.3 million views. In response, the official X manager for Chakangoodoo shared the post and wrote, "There originally wasn't an interview gift, but I proposed we do it. I also wrote the text," adding, "It feels embarrassing like my diary got found, but I wanted to brag about it."
A representative of Chakangoodoo told one outlet, "It's a brand many newcomers choose for interview shoes, and we have watched up close not only their joy after passing but also their disappointment at failing," adding, "We felt we wanted to cheer on the applicants we connected with, regardless of the results."
