A man who tried to abduct an elementary school student in Yangcheon District, Seoul, was arrested by police.
On the 6th, according to police, the Yangcheon Police Station recently apprehended a man in his 50s, identified as A, on suspicion of attempted abduction and enticement of a minor. A is accused of trying to abduct an elementary school student, identified as B, around 3 p.m. on the 1st at a convenience store in Yangcheon District, where she was eating.
At the time, A reportedly gave B money and said, "Buy yourself something tasty," and "Where do you live?" A convenience store employee, finding this suspicious, stopped A. Police were dispatched after B's mother reported the incident.
Police plan to summon A soon to investigate possible links to other crimes.
