Law firm JR officially launched on the 3rd, it said on the 4th. JR brought together attorneys from the prosecution service, major law firms, and former chief legal officers at large corporations, each with more than 10 years of practical experience in their fields.
Managing partner Kim Seung-hyun oversees operations. Kim said, "The name JR stands for Justice and Rights," adding, "Protecting clients' legitimate rights and interests is our top priority."
Managing partner Jang So-young co-leads the firm. After serving as Director General prosecutor, Jang moved to SPC Group and served as chief legal officer (CLO). Jang will direct responses to corporate criminal matters and major criminal cases.
Managing partner Kim Hak-hoon, who worked for 17 years as a partner at Lee & Ko, handled a number of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and advised on investments in startups and technology-focused corporations.
Managing partner Kang Sang-yong has expertise in data analysis. Kang is pushing to build an artificial intelligence (AI)-based case management system and plans to roll out precise and efficient legal services suited to the digital age.
Partner attorney Kim Sang-nam focuses on resolving increasingly complex labor issues and construction and real estate disputes, alongside criminal cases. Partner attorney Park Sun-beom plans to provide close defense of clients' rights in criminal and traffic and drunk-driving cases. Partner attorney Kwak Yun-seo handles a wide range of family matters, including divorce and inheritance.
JR plans to operate a counseling system with enhanced anonymity and accessibility for sensitive personal matters such as sex crimes and divorce. For corporate cases such as management control disputes and startup advisory, it will run a close-response system centered on dedicated teams.
