A fire broke out at about 4:10 p.m. on the 23rd in a wooded hill in Geomse-ri, Samnangjin-eup, Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province.
The National Fire Agency issued a nationwide firefighting mobilization order at 5:39 p.m. the same day. A nationwide mobilization order can be issued when it is difficult to respond with the firefighting capacity of a specific city or province alone.
The National Fire Agency, after deploying 16 firefighting units from North Gyeongsang and Daegu, decided to additionally mobilize a total of 18 firefighting units from Busan and Ulsan.
The National Fire Agency said, "We extinguished the main fire ('big blaze') of the Hamyang County wildfire in North Gyeongsang and moved the agency's disaster command vehicle and on-site situation manager to Miryang," adding, "We also dispatched the firefighting equipment that had been mobilized for the Hamyang wildfire to the Miryang wildfire site."
Miryang City also sent out an emergency alert at about 5:39 p.m. the same day that said, "Residents of Joeun Yeonin Convalescent Hospital, Geomse Village, Yuldong Village, and Antae Village, please evacuate immediately to Samnangjin Elementary School."
