The National Fire Agency issued the second nationwide fire service mobilization order at 11:15 a.m. on the 23rd in connection with the wildfire in Hamyang County, South Gyeongsang. A nationwide mobilization order can be issued when it is difficult to respond with the firefighting capacity of a specific city or province alone.
Under the second nationwide fire service mobilization order, six fire engines, four water tankers, and 10 wildfire suppression vehicles from Gwangju, Daegu, and North Gyeongsang will be additionally deployed.
The National Fire Agency issued a nationwide mobilization order at 11:14 p.m. the previous day and mobilized firefighting equipment from North Jeolla and South Jeolla.
The National Fire Agency said it will "mobilize all aerial and ground suppression equipment and personnel in cooperation with related agencies such as the Korea Forest Service."
This Hamyang wildfire has continued since 9:14 p.m. on the 21st for a third day. The current containment rate is about 58%.
