Law firm YulChon said on the 19th that it has hired adviser Yu Jin-gyu and attorney Kim Seung-ho, who held key posts in the police and prosecution.
YulChon said the hires aim to further advance its capabilities in strategy at the investigation stage, response to corporate criminal cases, and management of regulatory and criminal risks.
Adviser Yu Jin-gyu graduated from the Korea National Police University and was commissioned as an inspector in 1989, later serving as Gwanak Police Station chief, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Director for Public Relations, and Korean National Police Agency Director for Public Relations. Yu then led public safety administration as chief of the Ulsan Metropolitan Police Agency and the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency. YulChon said Yu will provide field-centered advisory capabilities based on broad experience in investigations and overall organizational operations.
Attorney Kim Seung-ho (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 33) graduated from Seoul National University with a major in public law and held key posts including investigator at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, head of the Policy Planning Unit at the Ministry of Justice, and head of Criminal Division 1 at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. Kim is known as a "Japan expert," having completed long-term training at Keio University and served a three-year term as legal cooperation officer at the Embassy of Japan. Kim is regarded as having strengths in responding to complex criminal cases, based on accumulated investigative experience in international criminal and corporate criminal matters.
A YulChon official said, "With the addition of experts who have served in core posts in the prosecution and police, we have further refined our investigation response system," adding, "We will provide more effective criminal and litigation solutions to corporations and individual clients."
