Chungcheongbuk-do Gov. Kim Young-hwan on the 19th said the 83 trillion won in investment attraction under the eighth popularly elected administration was "the result of comprehensive capabilities that combine geographic advantages with trust, strategy and execution among cities and counties."
Kim stated accordingly at a strategy workshop held at the North Chungcheong Provincial Government on the day.
The workshop was organized to strengthen the execution of North Chungcheong's investment strategy. The aim was to share hands-on experience accumulated in the field of investment attraction and analyze the real decision-making factors for corporations' investments. About 130 people attended, including provincial and city and county officials in charge of investment attraction and industrial complexes, industrial complex developers and sales agencies.
The event proceeded in three sessions. Yoon Jong-jin, head of the press team at the North Chungcheong provincial government, shared field-centered practical cases under the theme "Passing down know-how from senior investment-attraction officials," and Shin Hyun-chang, executive director of the management support team at Orion, gave a presentation on the theme "Why did corporations choose North Chungcheong?" Orion is strengthening its production competitiveness based on its fourth and fifth plants in Cheongju, North Chungcheong. As of 2024, sales at the Cheongju plant exceeded 600 billion won, and a Jincheon Integrated Center worth 460 billion won is being established in Jincheon Technopolis.
Kim took the stage as the final session presenter to explain North Chungcheong's investment environment and investment strategy under the eighth popularly elected administration. He emphasized that achieving 83 trillion won in investment attraction had drawn nationwide attention, and he proposed a new direction for investment attraction based on innovative practice beyond merely expanding the size of investments.
Kim said, "We will go beyond quantitative results to flesh out North Chungcheong's differentiated investment value and execution strategy, and further strengthen the investment environment that corporations feel."
