A man in his 20s was arrested after assaulting his parents inside their home and walking around the hallway of the residence with a weapon.
The Yangpyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi said on the 17th that it arrested A on the spot on suspicion of injury to an ascendant and possession of a weapon in a public place and had the person admitted for emergency treatment. A is accused of assaulting his parents in their 60s at his residence in Yangpyeong County at about 11:30 p.m. on the 16th, the day before Seollal, causing minor injuries. He is also suspected of roaming the hallway after coming out with a weapon that was in the home following the assault.
Police, responding to a report, ordered A to drop the weapon, but when A did not comply, they fired a Taser to subdue and arrest the person, according to reports.
