It will be cold on Tuesday the 17th, Lunar New Year's Day, with low morning temperatures, but the cold will gradually ease from the afternoon.
The morning low is forecast at -7 to 3 degrees, and the daytime high at 4 to 13 degrees. Morning temperatures will be at or below 0 in most areas nationwide. With winds blowing, it will feel even colder.
In particular, the temperature difference between day and night will be 15 degrees or more, mainly in inland Gyeongsang, so take care of your health. The central region, Gyeongsang, and Jeju will be mostly cloudy before gradually clearing, while Jeolla will see many clouds. In eastern Jeju, there will be places with raindrops under 0.1 mm.
Waves will run 0.5 to 2.5 meters off the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.0 meters off the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters off the South Sea. In the inner offshore waters (far sea within about 200 km of the coastline), wave heights are expected at 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West and South Seas.
