Rain or snow is expected nationwide from the morning of the 10th, which falls on a Tuesday, so commuters should bring umbrellas.
The Korea Meteorological Administration on the 9th said, "Between tomorrow morning (the 10th) and the morning of the day after tomorrow (the 11th), rain or snow will fall nationwide, and many areas will see icy roads and patches of black ice."
From the morning of the 10th, rain or snow is expected to begin in South Jeolla and Jeju; from the morning in Seoul, Incheon, northern Gyeonggi, the inland and mountainous areas of northern Gangwon, South Chungcheong, North Jeolla, and South Gyeongsang; and from the afternoon in most other regions nationwide except the east coast of Gangwon. Most of this precipitation will end on the morning of the 11th.
The expected snowfall over two days is ▲ northern and southeastern Gyeonggi 1–3 cm ▲ Seoul (on the 10th) less than 1 cm ▲ inland and mountainous areas of northern Gangwon 1–5 cm ▲ inland and mountainous areas of central and southern Gangwon 1–3 cm ▲ North Chungcheong 1–3 cm ▲ Daejeon, Sejong, inland South Chungcheong around 1 cm ▲ eastern North Jeolla 1–5 cm ▲ inland western South Gyeongsang 1–3 cm ▲ inland northern North Gyeongsang and inland southwestern North Gyeongsang, northeastern mountainous North Gyeongsang (on the 10th) around 1 cm ▲ mountainous areas of Jeju 2–7 cm.
The expected precipitation over the same period is ▲ Seoul and Gyeonggi, Incheon and the Five West Sea Islands (on the 10th) less than 5 mm ▲ inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon less than 5 mm ▲ Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, and North Chungcheong around 5 mm ▲ Gwangju and South Jeolla, North Jeolla 5–10 mm ▲ Busan and Ulsan (on the 10th), South Gyeongsang around 5 mm ▲ Daegu and North Gyeongsang less than 5 mm ▲ Jeju 5–15 mm.
The air will be very dry, especially in eastern regions. In Seoul and parts of inland Gyeonggi, inland central and southern Gangwon, the east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon, parts of the Chungcheong region, eastern South Jeolla, and the Gyeongsang region, where dry weather advisories are in effect, the air will be very dry. Other regions will also be dry.
In particular, with strong winds, small sparks can grow into large fires, so extra caution is needed to prevent wildfires and other fires.
From the 10th, as rain or snow falls, some dry weather advisories may be lifted or eased. However, since precipitation amounts will be small, many advisories are expected to remain in place.
Morning low temperatures in major areas are Seoul -1 C, Incheon -1 C, Suwon -2 C, Chuncheon -6 C, Gangneung 2 C, Cheongju -3 C, Daejeon -2 C, Jeonju -1 C, Gwangju -2 C, Daegu -3 C, Busan 3 C, and Jeju 5 C.
Afternoon high temperatures are Seoul 4 C, Incheon 3 C, Suwon 5 C, Chuncheon 3 C, Gangneung 8 C, Cheongju 6 C, Daejeon 7 C, Jeonju 6 C, Gwangju 7 C, Daegu 8 C, Busan 8 C, and Jeju 12 C.
Fine dust concentrations are forecast to be "bad" in Seoul and northern Gyeonggi, and "good" to "moderate" in other regions. However, Incheon and southern Gyeonggi are expected to be "bad" in the morning.
