It became known that entertainer Shin Dong-yeop's daughter, Shin Ji-hyo, was admitted to Seoul National University.
The ballet academy that Ji-hyo attended said on social media at the end of last year that "our proud graduate Shin Ji-hyo (third year at Sunhwa Arts High School) has been accepted to the department of physical education at the College of Education at Seoul National University." The academy also added a message of support, saying it was proud that she had steadily achieved her long-held goal.
This is not the first time news of Ji-hyo's admission was shared. Back in Sep. last year, news broke that she had been accepted to the School of Dance at the Korea National University of Arts. At the time, the academy congratulated her, noting that she had "grown together with us since the age 5 preschool class."
In a video released in Oct. last year on the YouTube channel "Zzanbro Shin Dong-yeop," Shin Dong-yeop could not hide a tense expression ahead of the announcement of his daughter's college admission results, and he only managed a relieved smile after confirming the news of her acceptance.
Ji-hyo is known to have followed the so-called "elite course" in dance, attending Sunhwa Arts Middle School and Sunhwa Arts High School. Shin Dong-yeop once said on a TV program that "my daughter is majoring in ballet," adding that "she started it as a hobby at first, but she liked it, so she kept going."
