Actor Kim Seon-ho's side moved to take follow-up action after allegations of tax evasion related to a family corporation surfaced. They said they submitted corporate card usage records to sort out controversies that arose during the corporation's operation, wound down various support such as salary and vehicles, and paid additional taxes.
Agency Fantagio issued an official statement on the 4th saying, "To correct areas where there was a lack of understanding about running a corporation, we proactively submitted past corporate card usage details," and added, "We also returned all family salaries and the corporate vehicle." It also said, "In connection with the amounts previously settled through the corporation, we completed payment of additional personal income tax in addition to the corporate tax already paid," and explained, "We are proceeding with closing the corporation, and the administrative procedures will be wrapped up soon."
The company specifically described the background of the corporation's establishment and settlements. Kim Seon-ho created a corporation in Jan. 2024 for acting activities and stage production, and until the exclusive contract was signed in Feb. 2025, some activity settlement funds were received by the corporation. However, it drew a line, saying, "We determined the corporation itself could cause misunderstandings and stopped operating it, and there have been no activities through the corporation for more than a year recently," and "After the exclusive contract, the agency has been paying settlements directly, and there is no connection between the contract process or activities and the corporation."
This statement appears to be in response to the spread of controversy after a media report the previous day. The report said Kim Seon-ho received entertainment settlement funds through a family corporation, and raised questions about whether this was tax avoidance using the difference in rates between personal and corporate income. It also mentioned that the corporation's registered address is his home, that family members are listed as executives, and raised suspicions surrounding corporate card spending and the flow of funds.
Meanwhile, Kim Seon-ho recently appeared in the Netflix title "Can you translate this love?" and plans to take the stage as scheduled in the play "Secret Passage," which opens on the 13th. He is also said to have unreleased projects including TVING's "Unfriend," Disney+'s "Bewitched," and tvN's "May the council member protect us."
