Former Environment Minister Yoon Yeo-jun was recommended as the 12th chair of the Community Chest of Korea (Love Fruit).
Love Fruit said on the 3rd that it held the second extraordinary board meeting that day and unanimously approved recommending former Environment Minister Yoon as the new chair.
The new chair Yoon's term runs for three years starting on the 5th.
Yoon graduated from Dankook University's department of political science and worked as a journalist at DONG-A ILBO and The Kyunghyang Shinmun. In 1977, Yoon entered public service as public affairs officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Japan.
The new chair Yoon served as public affairs officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Singapore, public affairs secretary to the National Assembly speaker, and Spokesperson at the presidential office, before joining the Cabinet in 1997 as the 4th Environment Minister. Yoon later served as a lawmaker in the 16th National Assembly and as head of the Yeouido Institute (4th and 6th).
In the presidential election last year, Yoon served as senior co-chair of Lee Jae-myung's campaign committee. Yoon is currently head of the Yoon Yeo-jun Political Institute and honorary president of Global Cyber University.
