The Minister wrote on Facebook in the afternoon that "to prevent any case of a person subject to detention being released due to a lack of communication with the court, we completely overhauled the intake procedures and rules at detention centers at the end of November last year." He added, "We will respond firmly so that those who habitually engage in extreme words and actions do not mock the authority of our judicial order or use it as a tool for political agitation," and "a stern measure by the Korean Bar Association is also necessary."
That day, the Criminal Agreement Division 34 of the Seoul Central District Court (Director General Han Sung-jin) executed a detention order against attorney Lee Ha-sang, the counsel for the former Minister, after concluding the trial on charges of obstructing the performance of official duties by deception against Kim.
