Seoul Facilities Corporation said on the 30th that to mark the Lunar New Year holiday, it will open 56 public parking lots it operates for free to support citizen convenience and the livelihood economy.
The free parking will run for five days from Feb. 14 to 18 during the Lunar New Year holiday. It will be open all day and available to anyone.
The corporation plans to open parking lots near downtown tourist spots such as Jongmyo, Cheonggyecheon, Euljiro, and Yeouido to improve mobility for tourists and citizens visiting Seoul during the holiday. It will also open for free parking lots in major commercial districts and on the outskirts of downtown, including Cheonho Station, Sadang Station, Sincheon Retarding Basin, and Cheonwang Station. Director Han Guk-young of the Seoul Facilities Corporation said, "To mark the Lunar New Year holiday, we are opening public parking lots for free to provide convenience and to invigorate local commercial districts," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create a safe and convenient parking environment."
