Actor Nana, formerly of the group After School (birth name Im Jin-a), filed a complaint for false accusation against the robber who had countersued her on an attempted murder charge.
On the 23rd, agency Sublime said, "The assailant has continued to make false claims, including filing a countersuit against the victim and repeatedly changing statements, without a single instance of any remorse for the crime," and added, "We will pursue every possible civil and criminal legal measure against the assailant's vicious and anti-human behavior to hold the person legally accountable." Nana's side immediately began procedures to file a false-accusation complaint.
It continued, "We cannot contain our deep anger and lament at the situation in which the fact that the victim is a public figure is being exploited to distort the truth and spread baseless claims, thereby committing anti-human secondary harm that inflicts another wound on the victim," and said, "Regarding the countersuit, police recently reached a clear conclusion of 'no charges, case not forwarded,' which is an official determination by the investigative agency that the assailant's claims are not true at all."
On the 20th, at the first trial for a person surnamed Kim (34), who was indicted and detained on a charge of robbery causing injury, held by Criminal Division 1 of the Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court (Presiding Judge Kim Guk-sik), Kim and Kim's attorney denied most of the indictment's facts, arguing, "I only intended to steal and did not intend to take money or valuables by force," and claimed, "On the contrary, I was unilaterally assaulted by Nana."
According to the prosecution, at about 6 p.m. on Nov. 15 last year, Kim entered Nana's home in Acheon-dong, Guri, Gyeonggi, with a weapon, threatened Nana and her mother, and demanded money, and in the process is accused of injuring both of them.
Nana and her mother submitted medical certificates stating they each sustained injuries requiring 33 days and 31 days of treatment, respectively. Kim was found to have been subdued by Nana and her mother during the crime, resulting only in an attempt.
In this regard, Kim's side requested, "Please ask the National Forensic Service to examine whether the defendant's fingerprints are on the weapon and the weapon case," and also argued that Nana's 33-day injury was not a defensive wound but an offensive wound. The court accepted Nana and her mother as witnesses.
