BAE, KIM & LEE LLC said on the 21st that it launched the Korea International Taxation & Investment Center (KITIC) to respond to the rapidly changing global taxes environment and cross-border investment issues.
BAE, KIM & LEE LLC said that as global supply chains are being reorganized and the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) and the digital economy increases cross-border capital flows, making international taxes a core management issue, it will offer integrated solutions that combine legal, taxes, tariff, and foreign exchange fields through the international taxation and investment center.
Adviser Kim Myeong-jun, a former head of the Seoul Regional Tax Service, and Adviser Lee Gyeong-geun, who serves as an adviser to the Korea International Tax Association, will serve as co-heads of the center.
Key members include attorneys Yu Cheol-hyeong (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 23, vice chair of the Korea International Tax Association), Jang Seong-du (JRTI class 36, director of legislation at the Korea International Tax Association), Bang Jin-yeong (law school class 1, research director at the Korea International Tax Association), Park Chang-su (law school class 4), and Bin Eun-sol (law school class 8); accountants Kim Tae-gyun and Lee Eun-hong; tax accountants Kim Yong-su and Song Byeong-ho; foreign attorney Jo Min-gyeong (New York, U.S.); foreign attorney Park Hee-yun (Washington, D.C., U.S.); and foreign accountant Jeremy Everett (Washington state, U.S.). BAE, KIM & LEE LLC described them as "experts with outstanding hands-on sense in international taxes and tax administration."
In addition, former Ministry of Economy and Finance 1st Vice Minister Heo Gyeong-uk, former Ministry of Foreign Affairs 1st Vice Minister Im Seong-nam, and Ewha Womans University emeritus professor Choi Byeong-il will serve as advisers in the economy and diplomatic trade fields, while former National Tax Service Vice Administrator Lee Jeon-hwan and former Korea Customs Service Vice Administrator Lee Chan-gi will serve as advisers in the taxes and tariff fields, and they plan to provide three-dimensional analyses and strategic advice on policy and system changes.
