BTS, set to return as a full group, is said to be pushing for a performance at Gwanghwamun Square in late March.
According to the Korea Heritage Service and others on the 19th, HYBE recently applied for permission to use venues in the Gwanghwamun and Gyeongbokgung areas in late March to hold a K-pop concert. The concert is titled "K-heritage and K-pop convergence performance." The Cultural Heritage Committee of the Korea Heritage Service is scheduled to review the use permit on the 20th.
The concert is expected to be a stage for BTS to meet fans in Korea ahead of their world tour starting in April. A HYBE official said, "We are discussing the venue and schedule, and will provide an official notice once finalized."
BTS will release its fifth full-length album, ARIRANG, on Mar. 20. The album includes 14 tracks that capture universal emotions such as the team's identity, longing, and deep love.
They will also embark on a large-scale world tour covering North America, Europe, South America, and Asia starting in April. The tour begins in Goyang, Korea, on Apr. 9 and 11-12, with 79 shows scheduled across 34 cities.
BTS also performed at Geunjeongjeon and Gyeonghoeru in Gyeongbokgung in 2020. The stage was introduced on the U.S. NBC program "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."
