In connection with North Korea's claim of a drone incursion, a joint military-police investigation task force (TF) is questioning one civilian suspect.
The Korean National Police Agency National Office of Investigation (NOI) said on the 16th that the joint investigation TF summoned one civilian suspect and is conducting an inquiry into the matter.
Earlier, North Korea, through a statement by the Spokesperson of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army, claimed that South Korea infiltrated drones in September last year and on the 4th of this month. The Ministry of National Defense said the drones North Korea cited were not military and that no drones were operated on those dates.
President Lee Jae-myung ordered, "If (North Korea's claim) is true, it is a serious crime that threatens peace on the Korean Peninsula and national security, so form a joint investigation team and conduct a swift and stern probe," and formed a TF of about 30 members, including about 20 police and about 10 military personnel.
