The Seoul Central District Court Criminal Agreement Division 35 (Presiding Judge Baek Dae-hyun) found former President Yoon guilty of drafting a false official document at the first-instance sentencing hearing on the 16th at 2 p.m. for charges including "obstructing arrest."
The court said, "The document prepared by Presidential Secretariat Director Kang Ui-gu states under the title of declaring martial law that martial law is declared as of 9:00 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2024, and below that are the president's signature and the date of preparation, and the countersignatures of the prime minister and the Minister of the Ministry of National Defense on Dec. 3, 2024."
It continued, "However, this form was actually prepared on Dec. 6, 2024, and the defendant's signature was made on Dec. 7, yet its contents are written as if it were prepared on Dec. 3, 2024, with the signatures of the president and the relevant cabinet members," adding, "That alone already constitutes a false official document."
