A fire broke out in Guryong Village in Gangnam District, Seoul, and fire authorities issued response level 1. The Gangnam District Office sent a safety alert text on the 16th morning saying, "Please detour surrounding vehicles."
According to fire authorities, a fire occurred around 5 a.m. in Guryong Village in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam District.
Fire authorities, responding to a report that "a fire broke out in a vacant house," were dispatched and issued response level 1 around 5:10 a.m., and are extinguishing the blaze.
No casualties have been confirmed so far. Fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire once it is fully extinguished.
The Gangnam District Office sent a safety alert text saying, "We ask surrounding vehicles to detour and nearby residents to exercise caution for safety."
Meanwhile, Guryong Village, known as the "last shantytown" in Seoul's Gangnam area, is set for redevelopment into a nature-friendly residential complex after a redevelopment plan passed Seoul City's review at the end of last year.
