Namwon in North Jeolla Province will provide 200,000 won per person in livelihood stabilization support to all residents.
On Jan. 15, Namwon said it will provide 200,000 won per person in livelihood stabilization support from Feb. 2 to 27 to help restore the local economy and stabilize residents' lives.
The support will be loaded onto anonymous prepaid cards. To boost neighborhood businesses, use will be limited to merchants affiliated with the Namwon Love Gift Certificate program. The deadline to use the funds is June 30.
Eligible recipients are all residents registered in Namwon as of the end of last year, including marriage migrants and permanent residents.
About 76,000 people in total are expected to receive roughly 15.2 billion won.
Previously, Boeun County and Yeongdong County in North Chungcheong Province, and Imsil County and Jeongeup in North Jeolla Province decided to provide livelihood stabilization support payments.
