Oh Se-hoon, the Seoul mayor, on the 15th addressed the People Power Party Central Ethics Committee's decision to expel former leader Han Dong-hoon, saying, "At a time when we should show self-restraint and reflection, the People Power Party is showing division and conflict, walking the path of abnormality and mutual destruction."
On this morning, Oh wrote on his social media (SNS) in a post titled "Let's stop here," saying, "On the day the special prosecutor sought the death penalty for former President Yoon Suk-yeol, the People Power Party ethics committee voted to expel former leader Han Dong-hoon."
He said, "At this unfamiliar behavior by the People Power Party, the public feels despair and disappointment," and added, "Having strayed from the path to victory, why on earth are we walking the path of self-destruction?" He continued, "Former leader Han Dong-hoon also needs to give an explanation that party members can accept," adding, "We must first establish the rationale for unity and reconciliation."
Oh also said, "Jang Dong-hyeok, the leader, must stop now," adding, "He must lead the party with greater leadership." He then said, "Expulsion means mutual destruction," and asked, "Have we forgotten the painful lesson of forcibly driving out former party leader Lee Jun-seok, an ally of unity, and inevitably walking the path to collapse?"
Oh said, "We must not hesitate to break with the painful past," adding, "We must unite all forces and confront the arrogant, massive power." He continued, "Only then can we protect the nation and the people," and said, "It is time to think of the public, who are watching us with a grave gaze."
