According to legal sources on the 14th, BAE, KIM & LEE LLC posted 440.2 billion won in revenue last year based on National Tax Service value-added taxes filings. That is more than a 12% increase from the 391.8 billion won recorded in 2023. Including its patent firm revenue, last year's performance reached 470.2 billion won.
BAE, KIM & LEE LLC's double-digit growth last year was driven by its work on numerous major cases. Representative examples include leading or continuing to lead the 13-year Lone Star investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) case, Samsung Bioepis' Eylea patent invalidation suit, the Korea Zinc management control dispute, and the KEPCO KPS serious industrial accident matter, among other cases with multiple intertwined issues.
In mergers and acquisitions (M&A), it advised on major transactions such as KKR's acquisition of SK ecoplant's environmental subsidiary, Affinity's acquisition of a rental car company, and the sale of SK Siltron. It also handled overseas transactions including POSCO International's palm acquisition in Indonesia, LG Display's sale of its Guangzhou plant in China, and Korean Air's investment in a Canadian airline.
In addition, BAE, KIM & LEE LLC handled the investment dispute involving The Drew Las Vegas in the United States, the CJ Olive Young fair trade case, TikTok's response to personal data sanctions, and advisory work on Binance's entry into the domestic virtual asset market.
Meanwhile, BAE, KIM & LEE LLC recorded 440 billion won in revenue last year, rising to No. 2 in the law firm industry after Kim & Chang. Since 2019, BAE, KIM & LEE LLC had ceded the No. 2 position to Lee & Ko. Last year, Lee & Ko's revenue was reported to have slightly exceeded 430 billion won, and Shin & Kim LLC, which recorded 436.3 billion won, outpaced Lee & Ko.
