Annie (23, legal name Moon Seoyoon), a member of the coed five-member group ALLDAY PROJECT, will pause activities and return to Columbia University, an Ivy League school in the United States.
According to her agency The Black Label and others on the 14th, Annie will return to Columbia for the spring 2026 semester. Annie is majoring in visual arts in the department of art history at Columbia. She is expected to stay in the United States until May, when the semester ends. It is said she has one semester left until graduation.
During this period, Annie is expected to handle scheduled overseas fan meetings while balancing her studies.
Annie is the maternal granddaughter of Lee Myung-hee, the chairwoman of Shinsegae Group, and the eldest daughter of Chung Yoo-kyung, the chairwoman of Shinsegae. She debuted last year and said admission to Columbia served as a lever.
Annie said, "My family strongly opposed my debut as a singer," and added, "Still, when I said I couldn't give up, my mom said that if I got into college, she would help persuade the rest of the family."
The condition Chairwoman Chung set was admission to a prestigious U.S. university in the Ivy League. Annie said, "I prepared for the entrance exam giving up sleep and got accepted," and noted, "Mom said she didn't think I would actually get in."
