Sogang University said on the 13th that, according to university information disclosure results from the Ministry of Education and the Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI), it ranked No. 1 among four-year comprehensive universities in Seoul with an employment rate of 73.1%.
Sogang University also had the highest fourth retention employment rate in Seoul at 91%, which indicates the percentage of graduates who remain at the same workplace one year after getting a job. In particular, Sogang University ranked No. 1 in Seoul for the fourth retention employment rate for three consecutive years.
Sogang University noted that despite a high proportion of students in the humanities and social sciences amid a hiring trend focused on science and engineering, it delivered results based on tailored career and employment education.
Sogang University has expanded special lectures and mentoring programs in which employed alumni explain their career and job preparation processes. It is also running extracurricular programs in career fields.
Choi Seong-uk, head of Sogang University's Career Support Team and also known as the author of the bestselling "Framework of Employment" series, said, "We will continue to develop personalized career and employment support programs so that students can find the right path early and maximize their capabilities."
