On Tuesday the 13th, the country will be mostly cloudy before clearing from the morning, with the Jeolla region clearing in the afternoon.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said, "In southern Gyeonggi, the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, the inland areas of the Chungcheong region, North Jeolla, and the northern inland and northeastern mountains of North Gyeongsang, there will be places where rain or snow falls until dawn," and noted, "In the Jeonnam region, the western inland of South Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island at dawn, and along the west coast of South Chungcheong from the morning to midday, there will be less than 0.1 mm of rain or less than 0.1 cm of snow."
From the 12th over two days, the expected snowfall is 1 to 5 cm in southeastern Gyeonggi and central to northern North Chungcheong, 1 to 3 cm in Daejeon, Sejong, inland South Chungcheong, and the northeastern mountains of North Gyeongsang, around 1 cm in southwestern Gyeonggi, southern North Chungcheong, eastern North Jeolla, and the northern inland of North Gyeongsang, and 3 to 8 cm in the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon.
Expected precipitation is around 5 mm in the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon; less than 5 mm in southeastern Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, North Chungcheong, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo; and around 1 mm in southwestern Gyeonggi, North Jeolla, the northern inland of North Gyeongsang, and the northeastern mountains.
In areas where snow has recently fallen and accumulated, snow that melts during the day will refreeze overnight, creating many icy roads or black ice on roads.
Strong winds with instantaneous speeds around 55 kph (15 m/s) are also expected in most regions nationwide, so caution is advised to prevent accidents.
Morning lows are forecast from minus 8 to 5 degrees, and daytime highs from minus 6 to 8 degrees.
Fine dust levels will be at "good" to "moderate" nationwide. However, South Chungcheong will be temporarily "bad" at dawn; Daejeon, Sejong, North Chungcheong, the Honam region, and Jeju will be temporarily "bad" between dawn and morning; and Daegu will be temporarily "bad" between morning and late morning.
Waves will be 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the offshore waters of the East and West Seas, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the offshore waters of the South Sea. In the inner deep sea (far sea within about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 1.5 to 5.5 meters in the East Sea, 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the South Sea.
