Police questioned Jang Kyung-tae of the Democratic Party of Korea over allegations of sexual harassment.
According to police and others on the 11th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Unit questioned Jang the previous day on suspicion of quasi-forcible molestation. It came 44 days after the complaint was filed on Nov. 27 last year.
Jang is suspected of sexually harassing secretary A at a restaurant in Yeouido in Oct. 2024. Jang filed a countersuit against A, who filed the complaint, on charges including false accusation.
The previous day, Jang said on social media (SNS), "The video submitted by the complainant is only three seconds long, and they could not even submit the other video that was reported," and added, "If they are confident, I hope they disclose the original video that was reported."
Jang added, "False accusation is a serious crime that can ruin a person's life," and said, "I cannot take lightly any act that caused enormous damage through a spliced video and distorted claims."
