A wildfire that broke out in Uiseong County, North Gyeongsang, spread quickly in strong winds, prompting an evacuation order for residents.
According to the forestry authorities and others, the wildfire started at about 3:14 p.m. on the 10th in the area of San 135-1, Bibong-ri, Uiseong-eup. Uiseong County told residents of Oro-ri, Palseong-ri and Bibong-ri in Uiseong-eup to evacuate to the Uiseong Gymnasium.
At the time the wildfire broke out, strong winds of about 7 meters per second were blowing across Uiseong County, causing the fire to spread quickly. The strong winds were also said to be making it difficult to contain the blaze.
The forestry authorities are deploying helicopters, firefighting equipment and personnel to carry out suppression work.
