Singer-actor Park Yoo-chun, formerly of the group JYJ, visited Korea for the first time in five years.
On the 7th, Park Yoo-chun posted photos and a message on his social media, saying, "For the first time in five years," and "It was so cold today. But it was fun. Thank you. Good old memories and an exciting future."
The released photos show Park Yoo-chun, with bleached hair, spending time in Korea with acquaintances.
Park Yoo-chun debuted in 2003 with the group TVXQ! under SM Entertainment, then left the team in 2009 after filing a lawsuit seeking confirmation that the exclusive contract with SM Entertainment was invalid. He later re-debuted as JYJ with Kim Jae-joong and Kim Jun-su, who had also been active in TVXQ!.
After being embroiled in a sex scandal in 2016, he was indicted in 2019 on charges of using methamphetamine and was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years.
At the time, Park Yoo-chun held a press conference and said, "I have never used drugs nor encouraged anyone to use them. If it is true that I used drugs, I will retire from the entertainment industry."
Afterward, Park Yoo-chun announced his retirement from the entertainment industry but reversed it a year later and has been active mainly overseas.
