The first trial this month will be held for a man in his 30s who broke into the home of singer and actor Nana, formerly of the group After School, and committed a robbery.
According to legal sources, the Criminal Division 1 of the Uijeongbu District Court's Namyangju branch plans to hold the first hearing on the 20th for A, who has been detained and indicted on charges of robbery resulting in injury.
Earlier, A is accused of breaking into Nana's residence in Acheondong, Guri, Gyeonggi, at about 6 a.m. on Nov. 15 last year and threatening Nana and the mother with a weapon while attempting to extort money.
Nana and her mother struggled with A, subdued the person, and called police. In the process, Nana and her mother were reportedly injured. A also injured the jaw area.
Police did not believe A was a sasaeng fan of Nana or that the crime targeted a particular celebrity's home. They also judged that the actions of Nana and her mother constituted self-defense and did not book them.
Recently, A, who is being held in a detention center, reportedly countersued Nana on charges of attempted murder, drawing attention. In response, Nana's agency, Sublime, said, "Without any sign of remorse, the perpetrator exploited the fact that the victim is a public figure by filing a separate complaint against actor Nana," adding, "This is causing secondary harm through an inhumane act."
Nana also wrote on her Instagram, "Absurd situations are still happening now, and I am in a position where I have to get through them," and "I am sorry for causing unnecessary anxiety due to an unintended incident."
