A story spread that, after offering a bus seat to a grandmother, a dispute broke out with another passenger. Internet users showed a range of reactions.
On the 5th, a post was uploaded to an online community saying that after offering a seat on a bus, the poster was grabbed by the collar and even the police were called.
According to the post, A sat in a regular seat on the bus on the way home from work and tried to offer the seat to a grandmother. The grandmother said, "I'm sorry. I'm getting off two stops later, so just stay seated."
The moment A tried to sit back down, a middle-aged woman passenger next to the seat took it.
A, speaking on the phone with a boyfriend, relayed what happened, and a passenger who seemed to have heard the call said, "The moment you offered the seat, it stopped being yours."
Not wanting to cause trouble to others nearby, A said to the person, "My belongings are under the chair, so please just hand them to me." The middle-aged woman passenger then pushed the bag over with her foot.
Feeling offended, A asked the passenger, "The person I offered the seat to was the grandmother, and I hadn't even cleared my things yet, so why is it not my seat?"
The passenger expressed displeasure in an exasperated tone. Then, saying "I'll press charges," she grabbed A by the collar and forced A to get off at the stop.
A brushed the hand away and blocked the passenger who tried to hit A. In the process, the passenger's glasses fell and were damaged.
In the end, even the police were dispatched. The police judged that A was not at fault and let A go home.
The passenger then said, "I'm pregnant, and I'm so startled my stomach hurts. If something goes wrong, take responsibility. It's miserable being pregnant."
A said, "When she took off her padded jacket, her belly was protruding. Honestly, if she had said from the start that she was pregnant and asked for the seat, I would have offered it gladly. The police told the lady something and told me to go, so I'm home now."
A went on, "Even though the other person picked a fight first, grabbed me by the collar first, and used physical violence, I'm worried it could still become a problem, and I'm torn up about whether the stress might affect the baby."
Internet users reacted by saying, "There's no responsibility for unintentional actions done without knowing. That lady is strange; she should have said from the start that she was pregnant," "You must have been very startled. Stay strong. Don't worry," and "It doesn't look like A did anything wrong."
