A scene of singer Koo Jun-yeob cleaning the grave of his late wife Seo Hee-won, who died last year, was made public.
On the 3rd (local time), a post appeared on a Taiwanese online community from a Taiwanese fan who said they went to a cemetery located on Jinbao Mountain in Taiwan and ran into Koo Jun-yeob.
The Taiwanese fan said they greeted Koo Jun-yeob in Korean as "a fan of Xu Xiyuan (Seo Hee-won)."
At that, Koo Jun-yeob silently pointed to the deceased's tombstone, took out items he had prepared, and immediately began to wipe the headstone. Koo Jun-yeob carefully cleaned the front and back of the tombstone and then stayed there for a while.
The Taiwanese fan said, "The expression looked very forlorn, so I couldn't strike up more conversation," and noted, "I watched from a distance and then quietly left."
Since Seo Hee-won died in Feb. last year, Koo Jun-yeob has reportedly halted all activities and has been keeping vigil at his wife's grave.
Seo Hee-won died at the young age of 48 in Feb. last year from pneumonia complications during a family trip to Japan.
Koo Jun-yeob and Seo Hee-won met in Taiwan in 1998 and dated, but broke up after a year due to practical issues. After Seo Hee-won divorced her ex-husband in 2021, they reunited after more than 20 years and married the following year.
