A teenage male suspected of wielding a weapon and injuring two people at a children's park in Gwanak District, Seoul, has been arrested by police.
According to police on the 4th, the Seoul Gwanak Police Station arrested a 17-year-old identified as A the previous day on suspicion of attempted murder.
After a pretrial detention hearing, the court issued a warrant, judging there was a risk of flight.
At about 2:29 p.m. on the 1st, A is suspected of brandishing a weapon at the entrance of Mugunghwa Children's Park in Gwanak District at a 79-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man. The victims sustained head and wrist injuries, respectively, and were transported to a hospital, but their lives were not in danger.
A fled immediately after the crime but was urgently arrested by police at about 2:46 p.m., 17 minutes after the report, about 150 meters from the scene.
